Information Security Officer & IT Manager

About the Role

As the Information Security Officer & IT Manager, your primary responsibility will be to establish, implement, and maintain a robust information security framework to protect Modelon's sensitive data and intellectual property. Additionally, you will oversee and enhance IT operations to ensure a secure, stable, and scalable infrastructure that supports business growth. Collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organization, you will ensure that security remains at the forefront of our technology strategy while enabling efficient and innovative IT services. 

Key Responsibilities

Information Security Officer:

• Modelon’s overall information security framework.
• Development, implementation, and continuous improvement of security and privacy policies across all business units.
• Build and manage an Information Security Management System (ISMS), ensuring risk management processes are in place for informed decision-making.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate security risks.
• Document and assess the impact of security breaches, providing clear recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders during security audits and assessments and primary point of contact for customer security inquiries and assessments.
• Support key business projects by embedding security considerations into decision-making processes.
  

IT Operations:

• Lead and support a highly skilled IT operations team, with five direct reports, in a software development organization.
• Part of the Product Development management team, contributing to strategic decisions. 
• Oversee the stability, security, and scalability of Modelon’s IT infrastructure, encompassing both local VMware-based environments and Azure-hosted cloud services.
• Ensure the reliable operation of Modelon’s cloud-hosted products and services.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders across business units, translating technical concepts into business language.
• Develop and implement IT strategies and policies aligned with organizational goals.
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relations, and procurement processes.
• Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer.

We’re Looking For

• Experience from developing IT- and security strategies, policies, and processes.
• In-depth knowledge of information security standards, frameworks, and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR, TISAX).
• Hands-on experience in building and managing ISMS and conducting risk assessments.
• Proven leadership experience in IT operations, preferably in a software development environment.
• Experience in managing hybrid IT infrastructures, including traditional on premises and cloud services.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and risk-aware mindset.
• Good communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as CISM, CISSP, or equivalent is highly valued.
• Experience conducting and managing internal and external audits.
